Green Flash Imperial IPA
Green Flash Imperial IPA, a strong ale Green Flash Brewing refers to as a San Diego IPA, poured a crystal clear, golden hay color into the glass with a big, sticky white head being fed by light carbonation. The nose opened with orange cordials, lemongrass, and pineapple with just a touch of malt detectable.
Green Flash Imperial IPA opened sweet and tart, with pineapple juice and dark orange juice leading in over a subtle bitterness that stuck throughout the tasting. Caramel and vanilla undertones came through as the ale warmed, along with alcohol heat, elevated sugars, and and orange rind flavor as the sweetness trailed into the bitter undertone.
Green Flash Imperial IPA is a good, if unremarkable IPA.
