Logsdon Farms Seizoen Bretta, one of the many organic farmhouse ales offered by Logsdon Farms, poured a cloudy golden hue with a big, tan head. The nose carried a light lemon tartness supported by big, farmhouse funk and peppery spice.
Seizon Bretta opened smooth and funky, with banana, clove with just a touch of tartness. Light apple and pear notes mingled with a grassy, farmy yeast and a persistent brett tang. The ale ended on a dry finish with lingering sourness.
Logsdon Farms Seizoen Bretta has a more mature brett addition than most brett-saisons I have tried, and gets close to a true sour. If you like funk or tart, seek this ale out for a great drinking experience. I found it at Rogue Pub in PDX.
