Alaskan Amber Alt Style Ale

Alaskan Amber Alt Style Ale, from the Alaskan Brewing Company, poured a crystal clear iced tea color into the glass, with ruby highlights and an anemic white head.  The nose carried through big, dry bready malts and a touch of sour apple tartness.

Alaskan Amber Ale stayed true to its nose by opening with a bready start, invigorated by light mineral notes and medium carbonation.  A semi-sweet caramel bread (the kind you can find at a panaderia) took loose hold in the middle before ending in a softly sweet fade.

Alaskan Amber Ale is a good choice for haters of hops and bitterness, but left me wanting.
