Wasatch Polygamy Porter, a playful rib at the Mormon community that surrounds Utah-based Wasatch Brewery, poured a nut brown hue in the glass with red highlights under a khaki colored, inch thick head. The nose carried little, if any, aroma… maybe a touch of bakers chocolate and something a little roasty.
Wasatch Polygamy Porter opened light and weak for style, with a slightly watered down iced coffee start. Notes of chocolate were barely there, but could be found if one paid enough attention. The porter ended with an anemic whimper, leaving a taste in the mouth of a beer that was poured over ice cubes.
Wasatch Polygamy Porter, if I can say one good thing about it, doesn’t hit any terrible notes… it’s much to wimpy to be offensive.
